June 2009
Sipili celebrated its first birthday on 6th June!! For the event Susan Phillips came up to make sun prints with the children there, and to demonstrate pin hole cameras. As usual too many kids came or tried to join the chosen 12. Someday we will have enough materials and helpers so everyone can take part!
-Sipili children exposing sunprints-
Anne also brought an activity; making hand prints with under five year olds!! This was popular and older children tried to join in too. Fabric paint quickly became face paint, fortunately everyone cleaned up pretty well.
While Anne and Patrick were there, discussions started about having to move the library to new premises. Few committee members showed up, so we are having a meeting with library committee members and the head of Lariak Primary school (where the library is currently located) next week (beginning June 8th) in hopes of finally resolving this matter.
