Othorongo'ngo the Giant, Thomas, and Queenventure

A long, long, long time ago, there lived a girl whose name was Queenventure. Queenventure was very beautiful and good natured. She was clever and honest, but selfish. She had long black hair and she lived in Hong Kong, China. Her hobbies were swimming, dancing and rugby. Her face was beautifully decorated when she was going to dance. She was sixteen years old and did not have a boyfriend. She was a lean and clean girl, and hardworking. She was good at mathematics, English and KiSwahili. She had two sisters and one brother.

Then the family moved from Hong Kong to Mombasa, Kenya

One day as Queenventure was walking from home to the swimming pool, she met a boy named Thomas. Thomas was sitting down. He was wearing torn clothes and eating dirty food. When Thomas saw Queenventure, he admired her beauty. Thomas stood up and went straight to her, then greeted her.

"Woo! what’s your name?" asked Thomas.
"My name is Queenventure," answered Queenventure.

"And where do you come from?" asked Thomas.
"I come from Malindi in Mombasa," answed Queenventure.
"Then we are relatives! I come from Mombasa, but not from Malindi but Lamu," said Thomas.

Two weeks later, as Thomas was playing football, Queenventure was sent by her mother to go and purchase some vegetables. When Queenventure was passing, Thomas saw her and ran towards her. "I’m glad to meet you again," said Thomas.

"Me too," agreed Queenventure.

After twenty minutes, Queenventure was already back with the vegetables. The two of them went into the mangrove forest, where they sat down and started talking. Then Thomas said to Queenventure, "I love you."

But Queenventure did not agree. "Ooh! are you a bachelor?" she asked.

"Yes! I am a bachelor, I would like to marry you," said Thomas.

But the answer was still the same, Queenventure would not agree to marry Thomas. Suddenly, they heard the noise of trees breaking, then they saw somebody enormous with three yellow eyes, smushing the branches with his hands. The person was a giant. The giant was so scary.

When the giant saw Thomas and Queenventure, he was as happy as a King. "Today I will have a great meal," he said.

Queenventure and Thomas ran away. They went to a nearby shop, where they sat down. Thomas said to Queenventure. "I said I love you!" Queenventure answered, "Now I love you too, because you have saved my life!" And they were happy together.

But the Giant's biggest desire was to kill Thomas, because he did not want Queenventure and Thomas to get together, because he admired the girl himself. So Othorong’ongo became very jealous when he saw how happy Queenventure and Thomas were together.
